Patricia Melton received a Bachelor of Fine Arts in Studio Art, with a concentration in Digital and Experimental Media from Kansas State University. She was born in Juneau, Alaska and currently resides in Manhattan, Kansas. She has participated in group exhibitions at Willard Hall, the Chapman Gallery, and the Marianna Kistler Beach Museum.
Patricia creates artworks that exist in the intersection between art and science. Computer coding and processing are incorporated with video, still image, and sound to create interactive interfaces. The computational value that can be gleaned from sensor data allows an experience tailored to the viewer in real time. Her subject matter explores the foundation of relationships between human and nature or human and body and exists to identify methods to stimulate relationship building.
